Joseph Roberts
will travel with the Green Section Southeast Region this summer. Joseph
currently is working on a Ph.D. under the direction of Drs.
Lane Tredway
and Bruce Clarke.
His research is focused on the development of fungicide resistance in
the dollar spot pathogen, Sclerotinia
homoeocarpa.
Joseph has B.S. degrees in biological sciences and chemistry
from North Carolina State University,
and a M.S. degree in plant biology with emphasis on turfgrass pathology from Rutgers University. He joined the plant pathology department at North Carolina State University
in 2010 working with Dr.
Lane Tredway,
and has helped with various research projects.
Joseph
is looking forward to traveling with the Green Section agronomists and gaining
new experiences that will be beneficial throughout his future career as a turfgrass
scientist.
