Matt Carstens
was chosen to travel in the Northwest Region this summer. Matt is a junior at Washington State
University where he is
studying turfgrass management under the advisement of Dr. William Johnston.
Soon after
obtaining his first job at Spokane Country Club (Spokane, WA),
Matt discovered an interest and
passion for turfgrass management. He
spent three summers there, including one as an intern last summer. Matt also has spent time working at Palouse Ridge
Golf Club (Pullman, WA)
while attending Washington
State. In addition to the Green Section
internship, Matt will intern at
Sahalee Country Club (Sammamish,
WA) this summer.
Matt
plans to graduate in May 2012 with a B.S. in integrated plant sciences-turfgrass
management, with the hope of one day becoming a golf course superintendent.
