James Sutherland will travel in the Northwest Region.  Jim currently is attending Utah State University where he is studying plant science with an emphasis in landscape construction.  Donna Minch serves as his advisor.

            Jim’s love for golf started when his father introduced him to the game as a child.  While in high school, Jim worked at Davis Country Club near his hometown of Fruit Heights, UT, and discovered the importance of turfgrass management.  Since then, he has worked at River Oaks Golf Course (Sandy, UT) as an irrigation technician.  He also supervised various commercial landscape construction projects for American Landscape, Inc., and recently completed an internship at Promontory’s Painted Valley golf Course (Park City, UT).

            Jim plans to graduate with a B.S. degree in 2012 and begin a lasting career in the golf course industry.
