Charles
“Charlie” Wilson (92) received the Wisconsin State Golf Course Superintendent’s
Distinguished Service Award at the 47th Annual Wisconsin Turf
Symposium last week. It was Charlie’s
idea to organize a two-day turf conference dedicated to a single topic of
current interest nearly half a century ago and it continues to be a uniquely
relevant educational experience to this day. It was definitely my pleasure to
meet and visit with the first ever USGA consulting agronomist.
