Position Timeframe: Part-Time, April 1, 2017 through May 31, 2017

 

Are you interested in joining a dynamic team that is an integral part of the USGA?  The U.S. Open Championship internship is a great way to gain valuable experience in sports management.  Whether you work in Merchandising, Operations, Championship or Will Call, you will gain valuable experience and see firsthand how an exemplary golf championship is run.

 

The 117th U.S. Open Championship will be held at Erin Hills which will be hosting its first U.S. Open Championship and its third USGA championship. Routed over the kettle moraine areas left by glaciers, surrounded by wetlands and a river and with ground that consists of glacial till of varied composition of sand and small rock, the mix of traditional and modern elements at Erin Hills will truly provide a championship test.

What You Can Expect:

A short term intern is needed for a Part-Time Internship from the beginning of April – through the end of May to work in the U.S. Open Admissions Office in Warren, NJ. (Please note that housing is not provided for interns in Warren, NJ)

 

The purpose of the position is to learn and assist with all aspects of the U.S. Open credentialing function including production, cropping photos, verification and shipping.

 

Additional duties include:

  • Assist the admissions office with day to day functions
  • Assist with special projects, mailings and some data entry
  • Help with the ticket and credential fulfillment for all USGA Staff
