Authorized Golf Club Program for Clubs

USGA Handicap System™ Licensing Program for Clubs

Effective September 19, 2017, the USGA will no longer accept applications under the Handicap System Licensing Program for Clubs™.

Consistent with the standard revision schedule, the USGA will introduce changes to the USGA Handicap System™ that will take effect in January of 2018 for the two-year revision period of 2018-2019. The new revisions are a continued evolution of the USGA Handicap System that will strengthen the administration and governance oversight as we prepare for the transition to a World Handicap System in 2020.

It is worth noting that all USGA Handicap License Agreements will expire on December 31, 2017, and as such, all clubs currently licensed by the USGA will be required to apply for authorization for 2018-2019. Beginning in November 2017, the USGA will launch its new program for clubs not currently licensed to become directly authorized to use the USGA Handicap System.
