Todd Lowe

 Agronomist
Florida Region

Lowe is an agronomist for the USGA Green Section's Florida Region, joining the staff in 2000. He is located on the southwest coast of Florida, working with USGA Green Section Florida Region Director, John Foy. His duties include TAS visits, industry and university presentations, as well as writing for various industry publications. Although his duties extend throughout the state, his main focus is on visiting golf courses on the west coast of Florida.

He received his B.S. degree from the University of Florida in Environmental Horticulture (Turfgrass Emphasis). He also has a Master of Science degree in Horticulture from Clemson University.

A native Floridian, Lowe became interested in golf course maintenance at the age of 14 while working for his father, David Lowe. He worked for his father at The Plantation in Ponte Vedra throughout high school and junior college. He also worked part-time at the Walker Golf Course at Clemson University while attending graduate school.

Prior to joining the USGA, Lowe worked full-time for Clemson University as a turfgrass research technician. In 2000 he received GCSAA's Watson Fellowship. He also was chosen to participate in the USGA Green Section's summer internship program in 1999. That gave him the distinction of being the first intern to have become a member of the Green Section staff.

Lowe's leisure time is spent with his wife Stephanie, daughter Kayla and son Hunter
