Russian Jack Springs Junior Golf Association

Purpose:
This grant supports one of two USGA supported programs in Alaska and the only known junior golf program in
the state. In only its second year of operation, this program will serve approximately 1,000 youth including 80
kids with disabilities. USGA funds will be used for instruction, course access and range access.

Purpose:
This grant supports the only known adaptive golf program in the state. This program operates at three sites
and will provide group instruction, individual instruction and on-course play for an estimated 50 participants.

Purpose:
This supplementary grant supports a program that is projected to reach 290 participants at four different golf
courses in 2008. USGA funds will assist with instruction.

Boys & Girls Club of Southwest County

Purpose:
This grant supports a program that operates at four local golf courses. This program projects to grow
significantly in 2008 as it estimates to serve approximately 460 participants in comparison to the 337
participants that took part in the program in 2007. USGA funds will be used for instruction, outside course
access and golf clubs and bags.

Purpose:
This grant supports an organization that operates an extensive outreach program with the goal of transitioning
approximately 8% of outreach participants into its higher level core programs. In 2008, this organization will
reach approximately 3,000 participants through its outreach program and 560 participants through its core
programs. USGA funds will be used for instruction.

Purpose:
This matching grant supports a new national initiative. Alumni chapters of the historically African-American
fraternity Kappa Alpha Psi will mentor junior golfers at sites in California, Maryland, and Washington D.C. The
participants served will mostly be African-American youth and the curriculum focuses heavily on academic
success, as well as golf skill. USGA funds will assist with instruction, golf course access, driving range
access, and golf clubs and bags.

This grant assists with instruction costs as The First Tee of San Jose expands its participant reach by 30%.

This challenge grant supports an organization that operates an in-school outreach program and a week long

This matching grant supports an after-school program that will teach the game of golf to 75 students in the Oak
Run and Whitmore K-8 schools. This is the first year that golf will be offered to the youth of these rural
communities. The organization has secured discounted access at three courses so participants in the
program can continue with the game in the future. USGA funds will assist with instruction, course access,
range access, and golf clubs and bags.

This matching grant supports a grassroots program that operates at a course which was constructed with the

Northern Nevada Youth Golf Foundation

Purpose:
This grant is the first for The First Tee of Northern Nevada, a program in northern Nevada with nine affiliate golf
courses. In 2008, it plans to expand its participant reach by 70% and its programming hours offered throughout
the year from 130 to 560. USGA funds will assist with instruction, course and range access, and golf clubs and
bags.

This matching grant supports a program that operates an extensive middle school outreach program and an
open clinics program in addition to various other programs. Approximately 510 children from nineteen schools
will take part in the middle school program and 575 children will take part in the open clinics program. USGA

Rainbow Youth Golf Education Program

Purpose:
This grant will support a summer program serving American Indian youth from the Klamath tribe. It will provide
them with on-course instruction and discounted access rates. USGA funds will support transportation to take
kids 30 miles to the nearest public golf course.

Purpose:
This matching grant supports the expansion of a new chapter of The First Tee. The program plans to reach 450
kids at three different golf courses. Of the participants, 83% are projected to be enrolled in the Federal Free or
Reduced Lunch programs. USGA funds will assist with instruction, course access, range access, and golf
clubs and bags.

Purpose:
This grant supports a program that is expanding its reach by more than 10% and increasing its outreach to
local economically-disadvantaged youth. Youth on Course will partner with Salt Lake City Youth & Family
Division to bring the game to 600 kids. It will operate programming at all six municipal facilities throughout Salt
Lake City. USGA funds will assist with instruction, golf course access, and golf clubs and bags.

Purpose:
This partial matching grant will support the launch of an on-course teen program for kids in West Valley City.
The curriculum of the golf program will also include teen life skills. It is estimated that 80% of the participants
