Boys and Girls Club of Greater Goshen

Purpose:
This matching grant supports the Boys and Girls Golf Academy for the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Goshen.
The Golf Academy will help the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Goshen continue its mission to inspire and enable
young people to reach their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens while using golf to
instill life lessons. USGA funds will be used to purchase equipment and provide transportation for at least 75
participants in the Golf Academy.

Decatur County Family YMCA
Greensburg, Ind.

Purpose:
This matching grant supports the Decatur County Family YMCA, which will operate six four-day camps during
the 2008 summer and will also offer six weeks of winter golf programming. These youth golf camps began in
2006 with the help of USGA funding. This summer, the YMCA projects to serve 75 participants, three-quarters
of whom come from families making less than $25,000 annually. USGA funds will be used for instruction,
facility access, and equipment.

Positive Swing
Southport, Ind.
Awarded: $29,000
Purpose:
This matching grant supports golf programming for 56 individuals with disabilities and 344 economically-
disadvantaged juniors. The program introduces the game to the participants at a golf dome and supports them
as they transition to area golf courses. USGA funds will be used for instruction, course and range access, and
golf clubs and bags.

Owensboro Junior Golf Foundation
Owensboro, Ky.

Purpose:
This matching grant supports spring, summer, and fall programming for 500 kids at The First Tee of
Owensboro. The program is based at the Perfect Swing facility, which includes the Perfect Par-3 Golf Course,
which was constructed with the assistance of USGA funds. USGA funds will be used for professional
instruction, course and range access, golf clubs and bags, and transportation.

Capitol Area Golf For Youths Inc.
Lansing, Mich.

Purpose:
This matching grant supports instruction and driving range access for the first year of operation of The First
Tee of Mid-Michigan. Approximately 125 kids will be enrolled in this programming throughout the summer and
will receive extensive course and range access opportunities.

The Midnight Golf Program
Detroit, Mich.

Purpose:
This grant supports a year-long mentor based program for disadvantaged minority youths ages 17-21.
Participants will meet twice a week for 30 weeks focusing on golf, life lessons, and college preparation. USGA
funds will be used for course and range access, equipment, and transportation.

Traverse City Junior Golf Association
Traverse City, Mich.

Purpose:
This matching grant supports an organization that has operated for the last 25 years. The program includes
golf lessons both on course and on the driving range and hosts a tournament schedule for all juniors to play in.
Approximately 500 kids will enroll this summer. USGA funds will be used for instruction, course and range
access, and equipment.

Monroe County Area 34 Special Olympics

Purpose:
This matching grant supports the start-up golf program of Monroe County Area 34 Special Olympics. The
program aims to serve approximately 40 participants and will offer at least nine days of golf programming.
USGA funds will help provide instruction, access and equipment.

Bob Kramer Youth Golf Academy

Purpose:
This matching grant supports the expansion of The First Tee of Greater Miami Valley. In 2008, the program
projects to reach nearly 600 youths. The program has benefited from partnerships with local social service
agencies including Boys and Girls Clubs, the Special Olympics, children's homes, and community centers.
USGA funds will be used to support course and range access, instruction and golf clubs.

Purpose:
This two-year matching grant supports the Boys and Girls Clubs of Lorain County's summer golf program
which runs from May through August at no cost to its participants. The grant will help support instruction,
access, transportation and equipment for approximately 80 kids throughout the summer.

This grant will support six junior golf camps that will take place in the summer of 2008. Participants will enroll

This matching grant supports a program that combines golf, mentorship, and community service into one

This grant supports year-round junior golf programming that will serve approximately 1,300 youths in from
diverse backgrounds. Participants will have ample course and range access opportunities at the Washington
Park Golf Learning Center, the organization's home facility. USGA funds will support PGA/LPGA instruction.

Tony Yates Caring for Kids Foundation

Purpose:
This matching grant supports the Tony Yates Junior Golf Academy. This program reaches out to both urban and
suburban youth in the greater Cincinnati area by providing an expanded range of opportunities for young
people to be involved with the game of golf. This summer the program will reach 250 youths between May and
July. USGA funds will be used to support equipment and transportation.

This matching grant supports a program that includes a comprehensive one on one mentoring component as
part of the program. Participants are paired with local leaders in the community to play golf together and talk
about life lessons. It has also added another program this year and expects to serve 120 kids this summer.

Edwin Shaw Hospital - Challenge Golf

Purpose:
This matching grant supports a program for individuals with disabilities. The program operates its own
handicap-accessible golf course where all participants will have the chance to play throughout the year. USGA
funds will be used for instruction, course and range access, and adaptive golf equipment.

Fore Hope, Inc.

Purpose:
This three-year grant will help to fund instruction and transportation costs for Fore Hope's golf program. Fore
Hope will reach 300 individuals with disabilities in 2008. The program serves both individuals and groups of
patients from various hospitals and agencies throughout Columbus.

Purpose:
This matching grant supports the ViaQuest Golf and Life Skills Program. This program will provide six different
golf programs throughout the year and will serve at least eighty-five youth with either a developmental or
physical disability. USGA funds will support instruction, equipment, access, and transportation.

The First Tee of Southwest Pennsylvania Inc.
Beaver Falls, Pa.

Purpose:
This grant supports a new outreach program of the The First Tee of Southwestern Pennsylvania. The
organization is in its eighth year and provides instruction and access to approximately 300 youths in the Beaver
County area. The First Tee will provide a golf program for the New Castle Youth Development Center, a boys'
home for troubled children. USGA funds will be used to provide instruction, course access, range access, and
equipment for the 25 youths in the New Castle program.

The First Tee of Chattanooga
Chattanooga, Tenn.

Purpose:
This grant supports the construction of greens at a new facility slated to open in the fall of 2009. The facility will
include numerous practice putting and chipping greens, driving ranges, and a three-hole short course to
introduce kids to the game of golf. More than 500 participants are expected to use the facility in its first year of
operation.

Tennessee Golf Foundation
Franklin, Tenn.

Purpose:
This two-year grant supports the Tennessee Golf Academy at the Golf House of Tennessee. Approximately 48
youths from the Ft. Campbell Military base will be given full scholarships to a week-long camp that provides
playing opportunities and instructional components. USGA funds will be used for scholarships that will provide
access and instruction.

The First Tee of Chattanooga
Chattanooga, Tenn.

Purpose:
This grant supports a program that is looking to expand greatly in the next two years. A new facility will be built
soon and all programming will be centralized at this new location. It expects to serve more than 500 kids this
year and projects continued growth. USGA grant funds will be used for instruction and course access.

W.C. Two
Knoxville, Tenn.
Awarded: $34,000
Purpose:
This grant supports golf programming at The First Tee of Williams Creek throughout 2008 as well as wages for
participants enrolled in its Employment Program. More than 700 kids will take part in the golf programs which
include instruction, and numerous opportunities to play on the course and driving range. The Youth Employment
Program is typically offered to around 25 kids each year. Kids gain valuable professional experience and learn
what it takes to maintain a job while balancing other responsibilities. USGA funds will be used for instruction,
transportation, and Employment Program wages.
