Urban Youth Golf Program
Rockland, Del.

Purpose:
This two-year grant supports The First Tee of Harford County in Maryland. The program is continuing to grow, and in 2007 will
operate its second full year of programming. Participants will receive instruction and golf course access opportunities on a
weekly basis. Additionally, the program will be introduced in a local school for kids with developmental disabilities. USGA
funds will be used for instruction, golf clubs and bags, and transportation.

Northern Maine Development Commission, Inc.

Purpose:
This matching grant supports a junior golf program in rural Caribou, Maine. The organization is the primary economic and
community development organization in northern Maine and will reach approximately 30 youths through junior golf clinics
and camps. USGA funds will be used for instruction and course access.

The Salvation Army, Baltimore Area Command

Purpose:
This matching grant will support the continuation of the "Grow Through Golf" program. More than 100 economically
disadvantaged youth from the Baltimore area will take part in hands-on golf instruction. The organization will also place a
strong emphasis on positively impacting the school performance and attendance of its participants. USGA funds will be used
for instruction, range access, and transportation.

Purpose:
This matching grant supports the participation of approximately 155 economically-disadvantaged urban youth in The First Tee
of Baltimore program. The organization will host open clinics as well as sessions for youth service agencies. USGA funds

Children & Adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder
Landover, Md.

Purpose:
This matching grant supports a new program for children with acute Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. Through
research and education, the organization advocates for individuals with AD/HD. Approximately 30 children with the
condition will be reached by the Baltimore-area organization. USGA funds will be used for instruction, course and range
access, golf clubs and bags, and transportation.

Purpose:
This two-year grant supports the expansion of the Massachusetts Golf Association's junior programs. ForeKids program will
reach approximately 1,660 youths in 2007 and The First Tee of Massachusetts will increase participant reach with the
opening of a site on Cape Cod. USGA funds will be used for professional instruction, course access, clubs and bags, and
transportation.

This challenge grant supports an after-school program for economically disadvantaged youth entitled "On Par After-School."

This matching grant supports the expansion of the City of Franklin Parks and Recreation Department golf program. Located

Purpose:
This grant supports The First Swing program The First Swing is a series of clinics hosted at 40 sites throughout the country to
introduce the game to individuals with disabilities. Additionally, the clinics will teach physical and recreation therapists, as
well as local golf professionals, how to teach golf specifically to this population.

This grant supports the expansion of The First Tee of Greater Trenton to include after school and recreation department

Purpose:
This grant supports a golf program in Asbury Park, NJ. This second-year program anticipates reaching approximately 400
economically disadvantaged youths through local social service agencies. The golf program has become a fixture in a
community seeking sources of renewal. USGA funds will be used for instruction, golf course and range access, and golf

Purpose:
This matching grant supports the continuation of programming at the Glassboro Clubhouse and expansion of programming to

Purpose:
This matching grant supports a program for developmentally disabled adults in southeastern New Jersey. The program will

Purpose:
This grant funds a new program for kids with autism. This program will take place at the Tri-Valley Academy, a joint effort of
Bergenfield, Newmilford, and Dumont School districts, that have created a school solely for individuals with autism.
Approximately 16 participants will take part during the first year. USGA funds will be used for instruction, golf course and
range access, golf clubs and bags, transportation, and behavior specialists.

This matching grant supports a new program that will reach approximately 40 students in its first year of operation. The
school district that will operate the after-school program is an Abbott District, one of the 31 lowest income districts in New

Purpose:
This grant supports the construction of a three-hole facility for youth in a rural community. The organization will reach
approximately 250 youths once completed. USGA funds will be used for the construction of greens and tees.

Purpose:
This grant supports The First Tee of Philadelphia. The program will continue its expansion of programming to reach more than

This matching grant supports the expansion of the Philadelphia Variety Club's golf program. It currently operates at its

Purpose:
This matching grant will support the expansion of an all girl golf program. Nearly 200 participants receive golf instruction
and learn valuable life skills through classroom instruction on diversity, self-esteem, and health and fitness. USGA funds
