Decatur County Family YMCA

Purpose:
This matching grant supports the Decatur County Family YMCA, which will operate six four-day camps during the 2007
summer. These youth golf camps began in 2006 with the help of USGA funding. This summer, the YMCA projects to serve 62
total participants, three-quarters of whom come from families making less than $25,000 annually. USGA funds will be used
for instruction, facility access, and equipment.

This matching grant supports a program which serves approximately 110 economically-disadvantaged young adults (ages 17-22)
in Detroit. The program, which meets for 30 weeks, offers participants a unique combination of golf instruction and

bags, and transportation.

Purpose:
This matching grant supports the junior golf program of the YMCA of Greater Dayton's Teens in Action Mentors Matter.
Teens in Action will reach approximately 40 youth in an eight week-long summer program. Youth participate in the junior
golf program as well as a Summer Service-Learning and Civic Engagement program that is designed to provide the youth of
Dayton with responsible and educational community involvement. The youth in this program also get the opportunity to

This grant supports various in-school, after-school, and summer golf programs operated by the Pittsburgh Youth Golf
Foundation, an organization that has been making golf more affordable and accessible for youth since 1991. In 2007, the
organization will serve nearly 800 distinct participants, 40% of which are projected to come from families making less than
$25,000 annually and 55% of which are projected to be African-American. USGA funds will be used for transportation.

Purpose:
This grant supports the Perseus House Charter School of Excellence junior golf programming. The program operates throughout
the summer and fall. The program will reach approximately 48 economically disadvantaged youth during the grant period. This
grant will provide students that might not otherwise have had the chance to play golf, an opportunity to particiapate in a
junior golf program.

Purpose:
This grant supports programming for approximately 1,700 economically-disadvantaged youths at The First Tee of Williams
Creek. Additionally, this organization offers an Employment program which provides opportunities for young people to learn
about the operations of a golf facility. All participants receive unlimited free course and range access at The Wee
Course, an 18-hole short course. USGA funds will be used for professional instruction, course and range access,
transportation, and employment program wages.

This matching grant supports the establishment of the C.H.I.P.S. golf program for individuals with disabilities in the city of
Chattanooga. This organization provides recreational opportunities to individuals who have physical and cognitive disabilities.
In 2007, this organization will reach approximately 10 participants in its first year. USGA funds will assist with instruction,
adaptive teaching materials, clubs and bags, and the purchase of a single-rider adaptive golf car.
