National Minority Junior Golf Scholarship Association
Phoenix, Ariz.
Awarded: $15,000
Purpose: This grant supports the Junior Golf Enhancement Program,
a project designed to increase minority participation and retention in the game.
The program offers instruction, access, and mentoring for minority inner-city
Phoenix youth. USGA funds will support instruction, course access, equipment,
and transportation.

Southern Arizona Junior Golf Association
Tucson, Ariz.
Awarded: $3,120
Purpose: This grant supports the Right Start junior golf program.
The program is offered to 40 beginners between the ages of six and fifteen to
introduce them to various year-round programs offered by the organization. USGA
funds will be used to purchase a new set of junior clubs for each participant
and 20 new sets to begin a club trade-in initiative for other participants of
the organization.

Arizona Recreation Center for the Handicapped
Phoenix, Ariz.
Awarded: $17,000
Purpose: This grant supports the start-up of a golf program
for individuals with disabilities. Approximately 160 individuals will be
introduced to the game of golf at the recreation center and graduate to play
on a local city course. ARCH
already offers a wide variety of athletic and social programming for individuals
with disabilities. USGA funds will be used for instruction and equipment.

Longhills Junior Golf Foundation
Benton, Ark.
Awarded: $40,000
Purpose: This grant will support the Longhills Junior
Golf Foundation’s
construction project. Longhills Golf Course has been teaching the game of golf
to juniors for the last 25 years. The project is to renovate the three-hole
short course by
building new, artificial greens as well as build an artificial practice green
and add an artificial tee line to the driving range.

Longhills Junior Golf Foundation
Benton, Ark.

Purpose: This grant supports the Longhills Junior Golf
Program, which has been in existence for the last 25 years. Longhills Golf
Course closes its course to the public every Tuesday to allow juniors to
play. Longhills Junior Golf Foundation
also has a three-hole short course that helps beginners learn the game.
Specifically, USGA funds will be used for instruction, range access, and
course access.

Mississippi County Arkansas Economic Opportunity Commission, Inc
Blytheville, Ark.
Awarded: $60,000
Purpose: This grant supports The First Tee of Northeast
Arkansas junior golf program. The program plans to enroll 900 kids in 2005
and reach an additional 1,800 during in-school clinics, which will also
be used as a recruiting tool. The First
Tee of Northeast Arkansas has its own facility and is able to provide kids
free access at its course as well as at another course in the area. Specifically,
USGA funds will be used for instruction.

City of Englewood
Englewood, Colo.
Awarded: $5,000
Purpose: This grant will support the City of Englewood's new
program for 5-7 year-olds, which will supplement the other five programs that
the city runs. This program introduces kids to the game and tries to make the
kids excited about playing golf in a fun atmosphere. USGA grant funds will be
used for instruction, equipment, and access.

United States Golf Association
Colorado Springs, Colo.
Awarded: $10,000
Purpose: This grant will support the Pikes Peak Linkers junior golf program run by the USGA Grants and Fellowship Office.
This program provides instruction and access for between 90 and 100 kids each spring and summer. USGA funds will
be used for instruction, course access, range access, golf clubs and bags, and transportation.

Golf 4 Fun
Denver, Colo.
Awarded: $25,000
Purpose: This two-year grant will continue Golf 4 Fun's mission
of making the game affordable and accessible for individuals with disabilities.
Golf 4 Fun provides programming in four cities throughout Colorado and reaches
almost 90 individuals. USGA grant funds will be used toward purchasing adaptive
golf cars, which Golf 4 Fun will make available at multiple courses throughout
the state. These cars will be available for use at no charge by anyone who has
a disability.

United States Golf Association
Colorado Springs, Colo.

Purpose: This grant supports 20 children from the Colorado School for the Deaf and Blind in a junior golf program to be held
this year at Cherokee Ridge golf course in Colorado Springs. This program is organized, implemented and evaluated by
USGA Fellows. It provides fundamental golf instruction and an opportunity for these children with disabilities to
experience a level of skill and interest in the game as well as inspire confidence in many aspects of their lives.
USGA funds will be used for instruction, course access, and range access.

Boys & Girls Club of Topeka
Topeka, Kan.

Purpose: This grant supports the Boys and Girls Club of Topeka's junior golf program, which introduces the basics of the
game to youth and encourages them to continue playing after the program by offering free access. The program
plans to reach 50 kids in 2005, and USGA funds will be used for instruction, transportation, and equipment.

Bay Hills Recreation Park, Inc
Cottonport, La.
Awarded: $62,500
Purpose: This grant will support the construction of a three-hole
short-course at the Bay Hills Recreation Park, which is the home of The First
Tee of Avoyelles (TFTA). This addition will also feature a chipping green. TFTA
reaches over 1,300 youths per year through on-going in-school programming and
also aims to have 400 kids involved in its programming at the golf facility.
Funds will be used for green construction and irrigation.

The First Tee of Carville
Point Clair, La.

Purpose: This grant supports the construction of an on-site
driving range for The First Tee of Carville. This new chapter serves the participants
at a youth job corps facility and aims to reach at least 400 cadets in its first
year. A large portion of the construction work will be completed through in-kind
donations and labor.

First Tee of Greater New Orleans
New Orleans, La.

Purpose: This grant supports the construction of a driving
range practice area for The First Tee of Greater New Orleans at the Joseph
Bartholomew
Golf Course. Upon completion, this new practice area will house the TFT program,
which aims to serve 350 kids in the next year. Funds will be used for green
grass construction of the driving range and practice
area, and irrigation supplies.

Purpose: This grant supports The First Tee of Avoyelles, which

Purpose: This grant will support a program for individuals
with disabilities in the Joplin, Missouri area. This will be the program's
first year, and it plans to introduce 24 individuals to the game. Jasper
County Sheltered Facilities
Association has been serving individuals with disabilities for more
than 25 years. Specifically, USGA funds will go towards instruction,
course access, range access, transportation, and equipment.

Purpose: This grant supports The First Tee of Central New Mexico,
which will serve 400 kids within the next year. In fall 2005, this organization
will open a 3-hole facility built specifically for this program. USGA funds will

Purpose: This grant will support the Boys and Girls Club of
Tahlequah Oklahoma's after-school and summer junior golf programs. The programs
reach over 200 kids in a rural part of Oklahoma. The kids have the opportunity
to play at the local city course for a reduced rate once they complete the program.

Felton Dean Minority and Disadvantaged Youth Sports Foundation
Lawton, Okla.

Purpose: This grant supports the organization that operates
The First Tee of Lawton. The First Tee of Lawton reaches approximately
520 kids each year during spring and summer programming sessions. This
program serves
economically disadvantaged youth from the Lawton area in addition to
kids from the Comanche Indian Nation. USGA funds will be used for instruction
costs as well as course and range access.

Purpose: This grant supports the construction of a 4-hole
short-course at the Jimmy Clay/Roy Kizer golf complex. The facility will
be used for junior golf clinics and provide $1 access to all junior golfers.
The organization hopes to serve at
least 700 kids in 2005 through instructional camps and clinics. USGA
funds may be used on green construction, irrigation, and grassing costs.

Purpose: This grant supports the Clarence Clay Junior Golf Foundation,
which is beginning The First Tee of Arlington. USGA funds will be used for general

Purpose: This grant supports The First Tee of Houston at F.M.
Law Park which serves over 1,200 kids from the Houston metro area. This program
runs a golf facility reserved exclusively for the program on the south side
of the city which boasts a 9-hole executive course, a lighted driving range,

green, and a putting green. USGA funds will be
used for instruction.

Purpose: This grant supports an expansion of the Little
Linksters junior golf program. This expansion will serve approximately
300 kids in five different areas of south Texas, including Austin,
San Antonio, Corpus Christi,
Beaumont, and the Rio Grande Valley. USGA funds will be used
for instruction and scholarships for economically disadvantaged kids.

Purpose: This grant supports the BlazeSports golf program, a
joint initiative implemented by the Golf Operations Division and the Therapeutic
Recreation Section of the City of San Antonio (CSA). This grant will provide
funds for adaptive cars and adaptive clubs to be used by the participants in
the program both during and outside of programming. CSA will serve approximately

Purpose: This grant supports a collaborative effort between
The First Tee of Dallas (TFTD) and the Deaf Action Center of Dallas in order
to provide golf programming to children with hearing disabilities and children
of deaf adults. TFTD will conduct two program sessions in 2005 targeted specfically
to the deaf community of Dallas. Each session will
reach 20 kids.
