Purpose: To support the introduction of a series of clinics for individuals with disabilities offered through the Connecticut
Section PGA Golf Foundation. There will be three clinic series, each in different sections of Connecticut, allowing an
estimated 72 individuals the opportunity to learn the game of golf. Following the program, interested participants
will have the opportunity to play for free once a week throughout the summer at a pre-determined course in their area.

Purpose: This grant supports a junior golf program based out of 12 elementary and middle schools throughout New Haven.
Through this program, approximately 150 kids will receive golf instruction and course access, and will attend

components in 2002: an introductory program, a continued-access program, a program just for girls and a program run

approximately 180 youth. Outside of the programming, participants will be able to play and practice at the Sugarloaf

Purpose: In support of 33 "Tee-ch It Up" clinics. These clinics are introductory in nature, catering to youth from economically
disadvantaged backgrounds throughout the Atlantic City area. There are projected to be 825 youths in these clinics.
For those youth interested in continuing after attending one of these clinics, they will be given scholarships into the
"Tour By The Shore" tournament series, which is also run by the South Jersey Junior Golf Foundation.

Purpose: This grant supports the construction project for the First Tee of Metropolitan New York. This project is working to

Buffalo Inner City Youth Fan Club for Golfing, Inc.

Purpose: This two-year grant supports an 11-month academic and junior golf program for disadvantaged youth where participants
receive academic assistance and learn the fundamentals of the proper swing, etiquette and rules. Specifically, this
grant will fund instruction, the lease on the programs van, van drivers and course access. The program is expected to
expand from 100 to 120 participants over the next year.

Purpose: This grant supports a 11-month junior golf program for disadvantaged youth. Over the course of the program,
participants receive academic assistance and learn the game as a science. After the program, participants receive
access passes to a local course to continue to play. Youth will take paper and pencil test to track their knowledge of
golfing etiquette along with observations, writing abilities with regards to fan letter. The program will track
students academic accomplishments, as well as their behavior and attitude while attending school.

Purpose: This grant supports Children and Family Mental Health Services golf program, which is comprised of both an
instructional and mentoring component. For the instructional component, there are expected to be 48 participants who
will each receive 12 hours of professional instruction. Following this introduction to the game, each of the
participants will be paired up with a mentor, who will accompany each participant to the range and course over the
