Application Deadlines And Process

It is imperative that prospective grant applicants thoroughly review the USGA’s Funding Guidelines & Evaluation Criteria. This document contains information crucial to the successful completion of a grant application.

Both the Program Grant and Construction Grant Applications can be downloaded from this Web site or may be obtained via email by contacting the Grants Office in Colorado Springs at 719-471-4810. If you are interested in seeking funding for both construction and programming, both applications must be completed and returned by the deadline posted below.

Grant applications must be typed; handwritten applications will no longer be accepted. Further, an original, signed, hard copy of the application(s) must be received by 5 pm Mountain Time on the deadline date posted; applications will not be accepted via fax or email. Late applications are subject to rejection or deferral to the next grant cycle.

All sections of the grant applications must be completed in full and all supporting documentation, as requested on the application, must be received by the deadline in order to ensure review by the USGA Grants Committee. Missing information or documentation is likely to result in rejection or deferral of the grant application.

Once received in the USGA Grants Office, a letter of acknowledgement will be sent to the grant applicant. The Grants Office will also assign a USGA Fellow to each application; that staff member will assist the applicant through the review process, preparing the proposal for presentation at the next scheduled USGA Grants Committee meeting. The Fellow’s role is that of a liaison; however, it will remain the responsibility of the grant applicant to supply accurate and complete information and documentation in a timely fashion.

All grant applicants will be notified within two weeks of the Grants Committee meeting date. Recipients of awarded grants will be sent contractual documentation that contains specific terms and conditions, and may contain other contingencies including a defined schedule and/or structure regarding the disbursement of grant funds; i.e., outright, multi-year, or with matching or challenge requirements. Acceptance of the grant terms will be required before any funds can be disbursed.
