GHIN®

Available to authorized golf associations throughout the United States, the Golf Handicap and Information Network® (GHIN®) is utilized by 62 golf associations serving 41 states, Bermuda and Puerto Rico.

Two new associations, the Bermuda Golf Association and the Toledo District Golf Association, began offering GHIN services to their member clubs in 2007. The Idaho Golf Association begins use of the service in 2008.

GHIN's products and services continue to be developed to meet the requirements of its users - golfers, clubs and associations. To this end, development is directed jointly by steering committees made up of association representatives and staff that review ideas and suggestions that are forwarded through surveys and other means. After review, those ideas are prioritized for development.

New development continues to focus on Web Services and making products valuable for individuals. GHIN.com, the golfer's Web site, has received  significant modification for 2008, even while its popularity continues to skyrocket. eClubhouseT, an Internet-based club and player management product that gives each participating club an operational Web site almost immediately, is growing in popularity and increasing its services.

The GHINClub.net Web site continues to evolve and allows for many of the capabilities that are normally done on the GHIN Handicap Program (GHP) at the club to be accomplished remotely via the Internet. An upgraded version of the GHP, with a much wider array of report-producing capabilities and greater usage of IP-based communication tools, has become the version of this program being utilized.

The other major software product GHIN offers its member clubs is the Tournament Pairing Program® (TPP®), which remains a valuable part of an association's service offering. A streamling effort conducted in 2007 enhanced the value of this product. In addition to increased capabilities, such as multiple users, a robust library of reports, TPP ClubHouseT video display capability and OnCourseT hand-held device interfaces, TPP adds capabilities allowing for organization of many more types of competition.

The TPP RealTimeT module enhances scoring for stroke-play and match-play events, producing and uploading various HTML Web pages to a Web server. TPP RealTime is utilized by the USGA at each of its amateur championships and by the vast majority of GHIN associations for their championships.
