The USGA Course Rating SystemT continues to move forward, with only minor changes being introduced into the rating process in 2008.
The USGA conducts both local Course Rating seminars and National Calibration seminars to educate authorized golf associations on the process. At each calibration seminar, "Master Raters" rate holes on the selected golf course. Teams from authorized golf associations rate the same holes and compare their ratings to the master rating to ensure that ratings are consistent throughout the country and the world.
The USGA continues to maintain a National Course Rating Database in an effort to provide a USGA Course RatingT and Slope Rating® for every rated tee in the United States. The database is compiled from data received from authorized golf associations and currently contains more than 65,000 sets of tees.
