William Gist 2013 --- William W. Gist IV, a member of the USGA Executive 

William W. “Skip” Gist IV, of Omaha, Neb., is serving his third year as a member of the USGA Executive Committee.

Gist received a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Nebraska and a DDS from the University of Nebraska Dental College. He has been in private practice of dentistry since 1980.

Gist served on the board of directors for the Nebraska Golf Association from 1996-2006, including a term as president from 2002-2004. He is currently a member of the NGA’s Past President’s Committee. Gist has served the USGA as a member of the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship Committee since 2001, and has served as a Rules official at numerous USGA championships, as well as the Big 12 Championship and the NCAA Men’s Regional Championship.

An eight-time club champion, Gist won the 2000 Nebraska Mid-Amateur Championship.

In 2013, Gist will chair the Amateur Status and Junior Amateur Committees and will also serve on the Championship, International Team Selection, Regional Affairs, Regional Associations, Rules of Golf and Joint Rules of Golf Committees.
