William L. Katz, of Chatham Township, N.J., is serving in his fourth year as a member of the Executive Committee and first as secretary.

Katz is chairman of Visible World, the world’s leading advanced media technology network specializing in targeted TV advertising. Katz is the retired president and chief executive officer of BBDO Advertising in New York, flagship office of BBDO Worldwide, the third largest global advertising agency network.

He has been associated with the USGA for 17 years, most recently as a member of the Communications Committee, and has advised senior USGA staff on a myriad of communications and USGA Museum issues and initiatives. 

Katz is a charter inductee in the Advertising Hall of Achievement, is a past director of Lazard Freres Asset Management and has worked with both President Ronald Reagan and President George H.W. Bush in creating the “Vote America” and Partnership for a Drug Free America programs.

In 2013, Katz will chair the Bob Jones Award, Communications, Green Section and Senior Amateur Committees and will also serve on the Championship, Compensation, Management and Museum Committees.
