Chief People Officer
Steven Schloss began as the USGA’s Chief People Officer in January 2014.
Prior to joining the USGA, Schloss served as the Global Head of People at LivePerson, the leader in intelligent online customer engagement where he served as the top HR executive and member of the leadership team as the company more than doubled in size and revenue. At LivePerson, Schloss led a global culture, values and workplace transformation that measurably improved global employee retention, engagement and commitment.
Before LivePerson, Schloss spent 13 years at Time Inc., the premier branded media and content company as VP, Global People Development and VP, Human Resources. He also served as VP, Human Resources at Citicorp for 10 years.
Schloss also was a graduate faculty member at The New School for Public Engagement in New York City. He currently serves as a volunteer advisor and coach for Ashoka, a global organization that identifies and invests in social entrepreneurs.
Schloss was introduced to golf at age 11, competed at the high school level and briefly in college. He remains an avid golfer.
Born and raised in Teaneck, N.J., Schloss earned a bachelor’s degree in personnel and industrial relations at Ithaca College. He also holds a master’s degree in human resources management from The New School.
He currently resides in Northern New Jersey with his wife, Barbara. They have two grown children.
