Managing Director, Broadcast and Digital Media
Henry Smokler has been with the USGA since 2004, and in April 2013 was named the managing director of Broadcast and Digital Media.
In his current role, he has responsibility for creating and managing the USGA’s relationships with partners across the broadcast and digital spheres. He also works closely with other USGA teams to conceptualize and craft the USGA’s overall content strategy.
Smokler joined the USGA as associate general counsel, and was responsible for drafting and negotiating contractual arrangements for all activities undertaken by the organization. Prior to joining the USGA, Smokler was an associate at Willkie Farr & Gallagher (1997-2000) and Davis & Gilbert (2000-2004), where he specialized in corporate law.
Smokler received a B.A. with distinction in government with a concentration in international relations from Cornell University. He graduated cum laude with a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center, where he currently serves on the Law Alumni Board.
He lives in New York, N.Y., with his wife, Gail, and their daughter.
