G. Thomas Hough
USGA Executive Committee
G. Thomas Hough, of Atlanta, Ga., is in his first year as a member of the USGA Executive Committee.
Hough is Americas Vice Chair of Assurance Services for Ernst & Young LLP. He joined the firm in 1978 and became a partner in 1987. He has served as regional managing partner in the Pittsburgh and Atlanta offices and vice chair of human resources based in New York. He assumed his current role, based in New York, in 2009 and is a member of Ernst & Young's Americas Executive Board.
Hough has served as co-general chairman of the U.S. Amateur Championship and the PGA Championship. Additionally, he has served numerous civic organizations, including the Rotary Club, and is a past board member of the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and a trustee of the Woodruff Arts Center.
Hough earned his B.S. (summa cum laude, 1977) and M.A. (with honors, 1978) in accounting from the University of Alabama, where he was a member of the varsity golf team. He is a current member of the university's President's Cabinet, and also serves on the board of visitors of Wake Forest University.
In 2014. Hough will chair the Audit Committee and will also serve on the Championship, Compensation and Finance Committees.
