Daniel B. Burton, of Lititz, Pa., is in his fourth year as a member of the USGA Executive Committee and second as vice president.
Burton is a managing director for RBC Capital Markets, where he manages public finance in the Mid-Atlantic region. He completed 21 years of service as a member of the board of trustees of Franklin & Marshall College in 2012, and was the vice chair from 2006-2012. He also serves on several additional boards of directors.
Burton graduated from Florida Southern College in 1971 with a bachelor’s degree in management and from the University of South Florida in 1972 with an MBA in economics. While at Florida Southern, he was a member of the golf team and was named captain and MVP in 1970 and 1971.
Burton was a member of the Golf Association of Philadelphia’s Executive Committee from 1997 to 2008, serving as president for the final three years of his tenure. He was the Pennsylvania Mid-Amateur champion in 1994 and the Pennsylvania Senior Tournament champion in 2004.
In 2013, Burton will chair the Equipment Standards, Joint Equipment Standards, International Team Selection, Investment and Men’s State Team Committees and will also serve on the Amateur Status, Championship, Finance and Management Committees.
