Luke Maddox was
selected to be an intern for the Green Section’s North Central Region this
summer. He is a junior at the University
of Nebraska - Lincoln studying turfgrass and landscape management as well as
business finance under the advisement of Dr. Zac Reicher.
inspiration to become a golf course superintendent stems from a deep admiration
of his father, who is the superintendent at Oak Hills Country Club in Omaha, NE.
He worked with his father at Oak Hills throughout high school and learned much
about turfgrass management and discovered that he, too, had a passion for the
game. Since beginning college, Luke has expanded his knowledge and gained
valuable experience through internships at Wilmington Country Club in
Wilmington, DE and TruGreen in Omaha, NE.
In addition to his USGA internship
this summer, Luke will be interning at The Sand Hills Golf Club in Mullen,
