Oakmont Country Club's golf course was designed by H.C. Fownes and opened in 1903. The club celebrated its Centennial in conjunction with hosting the 2003 U.S. Amateur.

The 2010 U.S. Women’s Open will be the 15th USGA championship conducted at Oakmont Country Club. The club most recently hosted the 2007 U.S. Open, won by Angel Cabrera. Oakmont previously hosted the 1992 U.S. Women’s Open, won by Patty Sheehan in an 18-hole playoff over Juli Inkster.
PAR AND YARDAGE - Oakmont Country Club will be set up at 6,613 yards and will play to a par of 36-35-71.  The longest course in U.S. Women’s Open history was the 6,789 yards played at Interlachen Country Club in 2008.

WHO CAN ENTER - The championship is open to any professional and amateur golfer with a USGA Handicap Index not exceeding 4.4.

ENTRIES - Entries for the 2010 U.S. Women’s Open closed May 5. A record 1,296 entries were accepted for the 2010 U.S. Women’s Open, the seventh consecutive year the number of entries surpassed 1,000.

SECTIONAL QUALIFYING - Sectional qualifying, played over 36 holes, will be held at 20 sites from May 17 to June 3.
