Egypt Valley Country Club was designed by Arthur Hills and opened in 1990. The championship will be contested on the inward nines of both the Ridge and Valley Courses.
On either side of the fairways, a 6-foot-wide swath of intermediate rough running the length of each hole will be set to 1 inch. Then, there will be a band of primary rough cut at 3½ inches. The greens will be set to run at 10 to 10½ feet on the Stimpmeter for the duration of the championship.
The 2010 U.S. Junior Amateur will be the 30th USGA championship conducted in Michigan. The last USGA championship held in the state was the 2008 U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur at Barton Hills Country Club in Ann Arbor. The last U.S. Junior Amateur held in Michigan was the 1980 championship at Pine Lake Country Club in Orchard Lake.
