Course Overview
Ellis Maples and Willard Byrd designed the Dogwood course at The Country Club of North Carolina, which opened in 1963.
On either side of the fairways, a 6-foot wide swath of intermediate rough running the length of each hole will be set to 1 inch. Then, there will be a band of primary rough cut at 2¼ inches. The greens will be set to run at 11 to 11½ feet on the Stimpmeter for the duration of the championship.
The 2010 U.S. Girls’ Junior will be the 26th USGA championship conducted in North Carolina. The Girls’ Junior has been played twice previously in North Carolina – in 1989 at Pine Needles Lodge and Golf Club in Southern Pines, and in 2006 at Carmel Country Club in Charlotte.
