Player Notes: Shot 69 to earn the only spot at the Jasper, Ala., sectional, qualifying for his first U.S. Senior Open. The sectional qualifier was held at Musgrove Country Club, where his dad, Travis, was a club professional. Travis played in the inaugural U.S. Senior Open in 1980 and finished in 23rd. At the USGA Men’s State Team Championship, helped Alabama to a runner-up finish in 2005 by shooting a third-round 66, the lowest round of the championship. Also led Alabama to a third-place finish in 2007. Has played in the U.S. Amateur and U.S. Mid-Amateur, reaching the first round of match play at the 2005 U.S. Mid-Amateur.
