Russ Cochran
withdrew from the 2012 U.S. Senior Open Championship on Saturday
because of a back injury.
Cochran, the
2011 Senior British Open champion, was tied for 32nd heading into the third
round of the U.S. Senior Open with a 36-hole score of 141. He shot rounds of 68
and 73.
Cochran was
scheduled to tee off at 11 a.m. EDT
on Saturday from the first tee with Kiyoshi Murota.
Note: Dave Zink, the head
professional at Indianwood Golf and Country Club, will play as a marker with
Kiyoshi Murota. Zink attempted to qualify for this year’s U.S. Senior Open in
Ann Arbor, Mich. sectional play.
