Shin Withdraws From Women's Open

Jiyai Shin, ranked 10th in the Rolex Rankings, has withdrawn from the 2012 U.S. Women's Open at Blackwolf Run as she is recovering from surgery.  The 24-year-old from Korea been replaced in the field by amateur Kyung Kim, of Chandler, Ariz., the first alternate from the Scottsdale, Ariz., qualifier.

Shin owns eight LPGA Tour victories, including the 2008 Women’s British Open. Her last win came at the 2010 Mizuno Classic by two strokes over current World No. 1 Yani Tseng.
