Security Attendant/Part Time

Work Hours

2 days/wk 5pm-10:30pm (Staggered) Monday thru Friday

Position Summary:

Provide a security presence at the administration building while handling various maintenance tasks during the evening hours with special focus and duties involving cleaning service.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a security presence as described in the USGA security manual. Includes walking tours, observing outside cleaning personnel, reporting any problems, abnormalities or unusual activities, protecting against theft or damage, ensuring the safety of staff and guests, arming/disarming alarms, securing buildings, switchboard operation, etc. (see manual).
  • Assist with building maintenance as directed that may include but not limited to cleaning, stocking, painting, removing trash etc. Assist with special events such as set up and break down of tables and chairs. Assist with any emergencies that may arise.


Working Relationships

Works closely with security supervisor and facilities staff. In addition, all levels of USGA staff, police and fire departments, central station, utility companies, miscellaneous vendors, guests and visitors.

Knowledge, Education, Skills & Abilities

  • Able to work independently and take direction with little supervision (required).
  • Able to read, write and speak English clearly; courteous and conscientious (required).
  • Willing to fill other shifts or adjust hours from time to time (required).
  • Physically able to make walking tours, climb stepladders and prolonged periods of standing (required).
  • Willing to help cover shifts at the museum occasionally if available (preferred).


Must be a team player willing to help in other areas when requested.

Wear proper attire while on duty.
