Leo Gottgens-Syfrett has been selected as an intern for the Green Section’s Florida Region.  Leo currently is a junior at the University of Florida where he is studying sports turf management under the guidance of Dr. Jason Kruse.

Leo’s interest in turfgrass management began as a young boy when he volunteered to work an LPGA tournament in Sylvania, OH.  At 17 he obtained his first job at Inverness Club in Toledo, OH, and, during the summer of 2009, returned to this course to complete an internship.Hills.

Leo plans to graduate in May 2011 and thereafter pursue a career as a golf course superintendent.
