Christopher Ryan Mid-Atlantic Region

Christopher Ryan has been selected to travel in the Mid-Atlantic Region this summer.  As a graduate student studying turfgrass management at the University of Maryland, he is researching the epidemiology of dollar spot under the advisement of Dr. Peter Dernoeden.

Chris became interested in golf at an early age and was turned on to turfgrass management by his grandfather who was a golf course superintendent.  After high school, he spent summers working on the golf course at Purdue University, his alma mater.  Chris also completed two summer internships at the Chevy Chase Club in Chevy Chase, MD.  

Chris anticipates graduating this fall and would like to one day work for the USGA.
